The question of money and profit.

By all means do not take this text as an expert research, but only as a wondering well-read thought of stepping outside the box theories.

The history of tax in the world. i would have to write a bible size book in order to tell it, but governments work with the money they claim from individuals under the premise of legal taxation. Basically, we pay their salaries and their projects, only we should stop calling their and address them as what they are: ours. Our Employees, our projects. Since we are paying might as well have a say.

Here is something interesting: INCOME. Income tax is the biggest percentage of where governments get money. INCOME tax is the one they claim on your shoulders every year. You know the drill, salary, expenses, contributions, etc.

There is a catch: INCOME is pure profit. INCOME, legally is the sum that you make in profit after you deduct all the expenses incurred and your basic living expenses when you trade in commerce with money. THAT is income.  Its CAPITAL GAIN, as in the GAIN that you obtain from your CAPITAL, which is the formula between what you have and what you owe.

Read that again, please.

Your salary is not income. Unless you are making millions of dollars in profit over the salary  you should be making as a normal citizen,  your SALARY is your means of living. You do not calculate your salary, you accept it. You work for it. You invest time of your life in doing a job for the benefit of shareholders, not you. Your salary should not be taxed. It is not CAPITAL GAIN.

let me see if I can explain this better:

You buy a house. You pay your mortgage and now you rent that house. After some time you are just making CAPITAL GAIN. if you take into account that the house was always the same and you payed yourself what you payed for the house, every cent that you make after that comes from the fact that you are making PURE GAIN over your capital. THAT IS INCOME.

Think about it. How much we stress for money. How much we fight to get a job and do it correctly. How much it takes over our lives and usually we are still struggling to make ends meet. And then we have to pay taxes over it.

SOmething is off here. Very very off. Nobody is standing in front of governments who act like Empires with no regards to what is Just. The legal recourse is there, believe me. I am sure I am not the only one reading, talking and planning strategies about this.

Try and think outside the training we were provided with. Think about the essence of governments, think about why they call taxes CONTRIBUTIONS and not obligations. Because we CONTRIBUTE with money to their structure, that again, belong to US.

CONTRIBUTE, yes. But do it consciously. How well are your basic rights protected? How efficient are your public services? How much support your government gives you?

these are important questions. If you exchange money for a product and it does not work as they said it would, what do you do do?

That is right. Its not acceptable.

No GPS back then.

I think I should have been born in St Petersburg. Then go about my life route in South America for sure. But there is something about this city. It makes me feel deja vu.

Oh well. I guess In my next life, if there is another one. Or sometime, if there is time.

Or i should just go there now. Visit.

Such ethereal weakness

I was reminded this morning how weak we really are. Physically.

In less than a second I found myself falling down steps on the street die to black ice. The air was sucked out of my lungs by the impact and a sudden rush of adrenaline brought me back yo reality.

Shit. I can’t stand up. And I’m trying but the lack of air and this ice won’t let me. Just like a cartoon, just not that funny.

Yes I crawled to safety and made it home. I now have a huge bruise covering my back and a sharp pain that I can only feel when I breathe.

I feel fully alive. Completely conscious of all my tissues, muscles and bodily functions.

Hey Body of mine, I promise yo be more aware of your existence, no need to hurt this much now I promise there’s no clear and present danger. Please trust me.

As for ice, yeah never gonna look at you the same way.

Ouch.

Freedom = Altered state of Mind.

The Latin words “Liber,” “Libera,” and “Liberum” — with a Long I — came from the root meaning, “to pour.” From this, we get the word “Liberty” (hence pronounced with a short I), from the freedom we feel when we get drunk.

6,775,235,741 Bubbles in the world.

There is a Matrix. You don’t have to take any Pill. Just wake up everyday and step into it.

Its your Matrix. The one you actively and passively create and develop every day.

We tend to create this bubble where our thoughts, concerns and situations determine our past, present and future. I am not criticising here by the way, Its normal, we all do, we have to in order to maintain a certain flow of events.

We always have. I guess our needs were different, but bubbles were the same. The ancient cave man had to confront the possibility of being eaten or not being capable to feed himself and his clan. Therefore his bubble consisted in the very limited territory he could control with his senses and the daily preoccupations of finding suitable food, shelter and mate. The world didn’t exist. It didn’t have to. Back then, only things they could not control would affect their lives directly (Floods, Weather, Earthquakes, etc).

Now-a-days we still create our bubbles. We think our daily experiences determine absolutely our lives. We are sucked into a vortex of revolving dillemas that take over and monopolize what we do. We see the world through this vortex. We stand (or try to) int he middle of messages that are filtered by our barriers. Life as we know it still happens outside.

We are not that important.

No, really, we are not.

As individuals we are trained to believe that our lives are what we do. ONLY what we do. We create this train of problem solving thought. We wake up, do tasks and go to sleep. We distract ourselves from the tasks by doing other tasks. We consume products and sides, or clubs (republican, partisan, Manchester, the cubs, popular, nerd, etc).

Its our bubble. We are too occupied building our own limits. We have been programmed by education, family, religion, and now the most powerful : the media. That is why its called PROGRAMMING.

Now, if we step outside for a second, and realize the world will not end if you face the fact that most of our definitions don’t exist: INCOME, UNDERSTAND, LIMIT, CONTROL, etc…

I am not one for Anarchy, simply because I don’t know it very well, I have not seen a proven Anarchy group. There must be I am sure, I just don’t know them.

Life is bigger than mundane problems. Your problems and mine are important for sure. But not that important. We are not that important.

Our bubble now affects other bubbles. Around the world. Its things we control, Things we love to control that sometimes have an unknown effect around the world.

Step back. Think about your bank. How much do you have dealing with your bank? Why do you have an account? Who told you it was necessary? What premise they have on charging you what they charge and imposing their rules that -at the end of the day- just make you frustrated.

What is credit? Why did we become a credit based western culture? Who are we helping with credit?

What is out of control? who defines control? Why do we have all this pre-judgements of people. Where did they come from? Are you sure they come from your core opinion or are you just following your peers flow or thought?

What if.

What if everything. Do you ever wonder?

What if you took a break. Stepped outside and realize that the deadline that has been making you sleepless at night and stressing you with fear of failure is an illusion created by others and followed by you, to your detriment.

What if you decided that you really don’t need to buy gifts this December? What if you could save you from going to a mall full of automated humans who have been programmed to believe that buying for others represents more love than actually talking to them?

What if everytime you read something in the news you ask yourself if there is another side to that story?

What if you discover that the world is not really what you see on TV?

What if, tomorrow you could wonder about the world.

Strip away your made fears. Keep the ones we naturally have. No one is fearless, we don’t have to be. But there are things now that limit you that were imposed on you and you built your bubble with them. Take them apart.

What if?

There is only one way to know, right?

The art of training humans.

Think about school. Now try not to think about school. Now think about school again.

( I know, I just want to get your attention here)

Seriously. Try to step out of the box for a second. Think of taking the other pill (cant remember which color it is) as if you were Neo and this is The Matrix.

Ready?

Ok.

School. Kids “learning”. The basics of what we should know. Then slowly adding up difficulty and tightening hold on their behavior so they draw within borders and stay in line. Oh and Pay attention.

Now, who decides what should humans learn? And better yet, for what purpose? What are we doing with this failure contests in class (because that is what they are if only a very limited few succeed)?

Education was for the elite. To be enlightened was a privilege. Schools and Centers of learning were not for everybody. Then the Industrial revolution came and suddenly, with it, schools were massively open for business (literally)

- NOTE: I am totally generalizing, skipping importants chapters of history that you learned in school (pun totally intended) and picking only the facts I like to make my point-

So, schools were thought out to be the place where we train our future factory workers. But you cant really say that out loud, so we equalized opportunities knowing that not everybody would work for factories; But don’t worry the majority still does. only noe factories are corporations.

We are trained in compartelized information. We should know limited things but not understand a lot. We should not questions authority and literally learn how to stay in line, do your HOMEWORK and prepare (as I am sure more than one teacher told you) for life, because life is not easy.

What have you used really from what you learned in school? (remember I am generalizing, and I am not saying we should not go to school). Sincerely, tell me that you were amazed by knowledge and that most of what you learned in high school totally prepared you for University or College.

In full throttle 21st century, where tehcnology has made it possible to have infinite information in our hands and slowly erasing the boundaries of  geographical distance, we still make kids memorize tons of useless information instead of opening their minds to be prepared to handle all that there is available to them.

Current School systems don’t prepare kids to successfully make a choice later in life for their future. There is no nutrition/health related courses. There are no basic economics classes, or a tutorial on law and government system. There is no independent vs corporation activity. There are no official biology related classes on how to treat the earth correctly. Basic understanding of technology, the web, etc. No. There is no practical class about growing food and recognizing animals. All basic trades of modern humans, all that would make a more informed human being. Yet we fail to guide kids in their journey, we decided it was better to impose some information that some (including Ronald Reagan) decided was important.

I don’t have the solution. I am not saying that kids should not go to school. but when I step outside the box I realize that the system has failed us and we have failed each other. The world change exponentially and we still carry the old rules. I see more and more kids struggling with lost self esteem from failing at what they never have a chance to succeed to start with.

We are creating this generations. Generations of lost kids in an amazing world that come from failure and doubt their peers and their teachers.

What do you think its going to happen?

Comment of the Palin Post. Thank you. Interesting!

In Sarah Palin´s case I think it´s good you know how is she (and I also thinks she is the one who wants to show it to the world - the “show” of her life) and therefore you can avoid thinking of someone with so little culture, so little ”nada” rules a country like USA….even if it was a country like Liechtenstein!!!

In necessariis unitas, in dubilis libertas, in omnibus caritas

By far my favorite Latin Phrase. After I had to learn a ton of latin phrases, this one of course stood out.

Here is the translation:

(thanks to Wikipedia)

”unity in necessary things; liberty in doubtful things; charity in all things”, or, more literally, “in necessary things unity; in uncertain things freedom; in everything compassion”.

This is my take: “When necessary Unite, when in doubt always opt for freedom and above all things=>compassion (I take it as empathy).”

Its so simple. So clean. It speaks to the dignity of the human nature, the hope for better things. The fact that we are capable of good things together.

Now. Wait. This phrase may be in Latin, but that does not mean these guys were great in the equality and fairness department. But i’ll give it to them, they had a lot of time (apparently) to reflect on words of phrases, their meaning and their power.

There is a lot to think with this phrase in our ordinary lives. This became my mantra and to this day I have it (obsesively) put in ordinary things as stamps, t-shirts, books, etc…

What can I say, I am sucker for this kind of hope in humanity.

Here I was thinking this was an exception....

I wrote this last November, as in November 2009. And yes, I could apply it today, even though It did not rain

Dear Mother Nature,
I have complained lately to all your sons and daughters because they are either too cold or too hot. I think its about time I write to you all to say thank you (even though it rained today) for a beautiful November. Yes, I know, we are being a little spoiled, and yes maybe you are just taking a break to come in winter full force; but whatever it is I have enjoyed very much seeing the sun everyday; and I mean that not only because the sun has been there, but because I have not been buried in my scarf and heavy winter coat looking downwards thinking of you in not the nicest way while my body becomes a moving Popsicle.
So there, see?
I also know how to appreciate you when you are kind….
hope you stay on your break a little more, and i hope also this is not a sign that you got the H1n1, because I am sure you did not take the vaccine, nor did you created that virus… right?
Yours more than ever,
The sun loving and cold allergic humble little me.

Oh the Palin Experience..

I did not watch it all last night. But I did stumble upon the TLC program about Sarah Palin. I do say stumble because apparently I do live under a rock and had no Idea she was doing a show.

So I think I watched 10 mins.

This is the thing. I have nothing against Sarah Palin the person. As a mom, wife, accomplished woman and Alaska native I think she is cool. I would totally have a beer with her, no doubt. But this is where North American politics clash with my cultural background.

I do not want to know too much about politician’s personal lives. I don’t care if they are gay, hetero, single, married, widowed and/or whatever else. I like to judge politicians on their actions, better yet as the song says (slightly changed for the purpose) “What have you done for us lately”

I dont have any passionate angry feelings torwards someone who has a different belief system than me. I have a problem when they try to impose it, but as fellow breathing-thinking beings I actually respect people who stand for what they think its right.

Hey Sarah Palin, you are a woman. So am I. You dedicated your life to your family and yet accomplished a political career. You have been actually successful at it and to top it all of you have great legs (yes, I saw them last night). I high five you. Sincerely. I am convinced that you believe that your frame of thought is right. I do believe you mean no evil harm on people and yes, we do disagree on almost everything concerning public policies.

It is unfair to portray politicians so deep in their personal lives. Why? Because the reason we should vote for them does not lie there. Imagine If when I am looking for a job I send a documentary about my personal life, how funny and silly and good family member I am. Yes, it would show part of my character, but the bottom line is someone who hires me wants to know my skills and my achievements in my professional life. They want to know how can I be an asset to their team, not to be invited to a beautiful BBQ (that is just a plus).

When are we going to let the dust settle and stop being distracted with this type of information?

I want people to read about Sarah Palin’s project for the nation. About her record in Alaska, stats about how things have improved or not while she was in power. Whats her opinion on things that will affect my life. What are her solutions for the rooted problems in society and how prepared is she to take them on.

That will affect you. That should matter. THe fact that she is just a regular mom is the background. One that will not affect your life.

Anyways, Sarah, Know that there is one Canadian/Venezuelan who will buy you a beer anytime. We are not that far and I would like to know more about your public policies. And then a BBQ, why not.

Back to Law now. The quest for the real human being.

I have stumbled upon a series of intellectual events that have lead me to research and bring down some of the principles I have taken as truths over the years.

How did I take them as truths? I just did not question them. There was no need because there are some things in life that just are. Some of what I am going to write now belong to that category.

Let me start by quoting several European old legal documents and principles:

“A person is not a person just because he (or she) is a human being. A person is a human being capable of duties and obligations”

Now, think about it, why did we create another word for human being ( since we created the phrase human being). Why do we have the word Person that comes from the Latin word persona that means masks?

Why are we differentiating legally those two words? What does it mean to be a person?

I cannot tell you exaclty legally. I can tell you that a person is a human being that is registered in the system.  If a human being becomes person because it is capable of duties and obligations, that means that in order to account for the duties and obligations there must be a higher structure. One that counts and keeps stats on all persons. Hence, society. Hence governments.

Now. Wait. Person. Sounds familiar? Companies are Persons too. Companies are Legal Persons. As in Corporations are considered equals to human beings that have met the requisites to be persons. That mask has extended legally to a group of shares that seeks only profit as their objective and main duty.

Hm.

There is something pretty amazing about this thought. First. That means that the people who decided to use the word mask (person) were visionaries. Not that they foresaw the corporation era, no. But they saw the potential of structures full of beings that would behave “as the should” (persons) under the watchful eye of buig brother. There is no sense whatsoever on stating that one must have duties and obligations if there is not one central authority that checks.

How did that happen? How did we eloped from basic rural societies that traded not money but things according to necessities and had structures of cooperatives to the Corporation Legal Era, where to belong to a group no longer means nothing more than blindly walk, talk and breathe the rules and obligations of dictated by a few?

Incredibly intricate and brilliant writing it took for it to become what it is today, An uncontested rule that limits the development of your human being that is (by the way) not contemplated in your own laws.

The law created the “way you should be”. You are taught to stay in line, to draw inside the circle, to think inside the box, to sign every form, to pay every tax, to vote for the same candidates. Schools seem to be (generalizing) the mass production of half beaten souls, the training ground for factory workers of the 21st century. Do this, pay attention, respond to the call of duty, create your clans and be abused and ignored.

Life, after that is just peanuts. You work without thinking about implications and repercussions of yoru industry. You collect a pay that merely helps you get even. You build a debt that allows you to create a credit history that allows you to create more debt. You stay in a job to pay debt. You take time off your life to develop your professional persona and to answer the duties of your legal persona. You dismay politics and pay taxes. No questions, no recourse. You are trapped. demoralized and disfranchised. The law and the system crushed you to a machine motivated impulses (shinny, new, better, upgraded).

This is the secret. Read your law. The funny part is your recourse is right there, in front of you. Many answers to daily imposed hassles are there. The law dictated how you should be, and then you just abide without yelling that you already are what you should be. You are alive, you are here, and unless they or someone kills you there is no discussion about it, it is just a fact.

Are you a person? Yes, the questions is what kind of human being is behind it. Recognize that we are being trained not to ask questions. We are being brainwashed and distracted to protect the boundaries of consent in order to generate more profit for countries that behave more like companies. The truth is, it hasn’t work that well so far, so we might as well give this legal action a try.

Go ahead, ask me what you can do to be more in tune with your legal persona.

There are many things that will shift the balance more to your side. There are advantages to being you. There are explanations, discussions, definitions. Not just unilateral sentencing.

I invite you to read your constitution and wonder about your rights, the main ones. Do you know what they mean? Do you know how to invoke them?

The system will never be proven to work or not if we don’t activate it.

If you really knew me...

No I am not a cynic.

Remember? I think humans are awesome. But in order for awesomeness to exist I am basically pointing it out against human awfulness.

I think we all want to be better and we all want to be more “real”. The real me we say, “if your eally knew me”…

I think we make movies in our heads about the way we want people to be. Its a way of relating.

But truth is we don’t even know ourselves that much.

I think we can make people believe what we want them to believe. I think deep down we are all in a quest for a truer state. A life where we can “really” be who we are.

I think who we are is not who we want to be, but how we act, even if it differs at times. I think our masks are part of who we are, even our lies. we don’t lie equally. we try to hide and show things that we think are good and/or bad.

I rather embrace all of it. From you and from me. I pretty much start from the point that I dont know you, even if there is an illussion of relationship.

I know you and I know the you I want you to be in my head. there are two beings, one of them is just an Idea….

Hop. Hop. Hop.

I don’t think we are all good and everything can be solved with love. I am not that idealistic. The reason being that the world today is a vibrant proof that not everybody is looking out for the benefit of humanity, or at least trying not to harm others.

We have Wars, we have international market policies that suffocate countries that are already half dead, we have corporations controlling education and health care, we have blatant injustices and hate as a nifty new business.

So yeah, I do not think we are all that good (at least not all of us).

Do I think we started off good? I don’t know. I was not there. I like to think so, but as you might already know if you have read other posts, I don’t think I am right, I don’t think I hold any truth except for the things that I have experienced myself.

I do think we have one thing in common. We are all humans. We, like it or not, do basically the same things (biological, emotional and psychological -even some spiritual-). We are wired for the same things. We are born the same way. We experience love, pain, self doubt, joy and sadness. So that is a start.

We have also proven that when disaster hits (tsunamis, fires, floods, etc) we reach out. We also have the impulse to help somebody who fell on the street. We tend to open doors for moms and strollers. We leave our seats to elder people in public transit (most of us) and some things make us all cozy inside (be it babies, puppies or hamsters).

So there is a common point. I think we forget that the other also feels. I think we are all looking for fulfillment and we all have different views of success (thank god).

Do we have a chance? I don’t even know if we are where we deserve to be. I am not one to say that this is not how it is supposed to be. So far, this crash course of doom seems to be the plan of a few, and it is working perfectly. We -apparently- are right on time.

I want to take a step out of this circle that was drawn for me by my culture, environment, school, nation and religion. I would like to “hop” to a bigger circle, and the a bigger circle and then a bigger circle and then eventually no longer need the circle. I know, sounds poetic. But sometimes I feel alien anyways. So letting go of some of my pre-conceived borders can only bring more things and more things bring good and bad, and good and bad brings more understanding, more life experiences.

I don’t know for you, but it sounds awesome to me.

Hop Hop Hop

So, yeah. About Mondays and stuff

I have to confess. I did stare at my computer yesterday for a while. I came up with different post in my head but for some reason I just could not write them.

Yes, it was Sunday. Yes my life has been very eventful lately and yes I still do Wonder a whole lot.

But I feel the pressure people. Umjum (moving my head up and down). I do.

I seem to believe that I have things to say. Only I had no audience before, at least not that I know of. And when I did, I never spoke to them, they were just I.Ps on my radar things here counting whatever its called.

its funny. To think that I have been writing all these years to myself. I felt selfish in a way. Why is it that I cant help myself and I spend days writing everywhere: notebooks, computers, walls, emails, blogs…

Do I really have that much to say?

And then it hit me.

I got it.

Like a lighting bolt. Just without light, or sound, or nobody getting paralyzed. Anyways.

Yes, If I talked as much as I wrote I would probably be considerated a rambling crazy little lady.

Can you imagine?

If I went around telling people I know (and some -or a lot- I don’t) about the little things that make me wonder? Yeah, I think I would not be that girl that everybody wants at their party. Unless the party was for shy people who are comfortable just listening to others, but what are the odds.

So I write not to be crazy in public. Great. That was some realization. I had to sit on it, sleep on it and then drink coffee on it.

I took the metro this morning, and just like Alice in wonderland by the time I arrive at the 4th station I already had wondered about the tattoes on somebody’s hand (why on the hand? what are those symbols? what does it mean to him? god that must hurt. I wonder If I would wear a tattoo on my hand. Maybe if it was Henna, and If I would, what would I tatto..Uh oh I’m staring, he’s looking), about the book the lady was reading (in french, but its a translation of an english book and I can see the magazine underneath in English, why would anybody that speaks and reads both languages would like to read a book translated?) and why now out of 23 people (yes, I counted them) on my wagon, 18 (yes I did count them again) were wearing white earphones (are they all Ipods?, wow is MAC really that popular, how did it happen? design? Oh I love design, I should just go to school again to learn more)….

See?

Now picture this: I get to work and I bombard my co-workers with all the things I have been wondering in the past half an hour. Yes, I assume you are thinking correctly => I would be outcasted, labeled and isolated 9except for the courier guy, he is awesome and weird and I think he would enjoy my verbal diarrhea).

So I write.

It makes me wonder out loud. Put it on perspective. it makes me re-think things that I have been thinking.

I think I was born an espectator. I am a great audience. I don’t like center stage. I get conscious (mostly because people who look at me make all sort of presumptions about my character).

And now you are reading. And now I am wondering. A whole lot. because I do wonder, a lot.

p.s: yes IhateJeff you can indeed nominate me again for the Narcissist Crap Award, I actually enjoyed the first time. Second time would be an honor…

Everything in Timely fashion.

Oh well. I guess I was becoming a softy. Too positive and get-together-all kind of thing.

So I got slapped back into normal. First by winning the prize of ‘Narcissistic Crap’ (thank you) and then by being surrounded by a bunch of good for nothing politicians and government employees.

What a load of crap. Thank you, I needed it.

Ok, so yeah. I do believe in humanity and all, but I also know that some of you (them, whatever) suck, balls. Its no surprise we are so deep in shit, given that on one hand we have dreamers and in the other hand we have egotistical men and women who are so deep into their bullshit they cant smell it anymore.

So, the rest of us. Right in the middle, trying to breathe from all the clouds of contradictory thoughts and messages. Well, we apparently go dormant, basically we flip a switch that says Fuck off.

THis is the thing: NOTHING GETS DONE. There is some inefficiency gene I guess that just screws things over. We love to talk and talk and talk and then only 0.002 % gets actually done (sometimes).

I was witness last night first hand that the world and those in power revolve around a need for compensating penis size. Even for women, because they are trying to compensate for not having one.

Blah Blah Blah, I did I talked, I went I laughed a shake hands in political lilngo means: I am trying to compensate for my small penis.

Sadly, no penis is going to get bigger by crap like that. Well, no penis ever get bigger, but that’s not the point.

I dont belong to the “illusory, always positive, the world should unite in a song ” group. I curse, I am mean sometimes, I judge people even against my will, I get mad, I think I can do better at other people’s job, I am happy to be thin, I think about fashion and stuff and I think puppies are cuter than babies.

There, Fuck it.

Now, o I think Humans are Awesome?

Hell, yeah. I do

There is a whole bunch of us stuck in this bullshit limbo, caught between two groups of people who cant do shit (most of the time). I like people on this Limbo, but I think we need to do something, man.

Really, Imagine a world where irony and sarcasm rule. Imagine a world where you can say your witty remarks in public and most of the people understand. Wow, I know.

Utopia? FUckopia dudes. Lets unite, we can do better than them, or at leat it would be way more entertaining than this crap.

Rght?

(nice to meet you this is me, If I confused you before I am sorry -wait. no I am not-)

Oh the Irony

So I’ll be catering (literally) to a bunch of policy makers. I guess it’s only fair that I’m actually confronted with these human beings. After all I hammer them all the time. This is going to be an interesting day. I’m open to listen & I’m leaving home my pre-conceived ideas.

Just like a good script.

Life is a string of moments. It would be silly to pick one as truth and disregard the others and not taking into considerations those that are yet to come.

We tend to think that life stops when something happens (be it bad or good), but life never stops, just our actions. And life passes you by.

A thing that happens in your life has an specific place in time. It happened. That is it. It affects us, but then its us who decide to keep re-living it and therefore amplifying the effects, not giving space to savour new moments that might just surprise you.

I am not taking away any importance to grieving or struggling. I have been there. I know how it feels (for me). but I also realized that I could control what I thought, that voice inside me and give life a chance to amaze me and sometimes distract me when I needed it.

Everyday you put yourself in a cosmic path full of unknown things and opportunities. Even you can’t see it. That is the beauty. You actually never know what a day brings you. Little things can change your day and just like we hold on to traumatic moments we could be holding on to those.

I refuse to pick one moment as the categorization of my life. I have not lived long enough (and I will probably say this when I turn 100), nor I have experienced everything there is in order for me to make a choice, a lucky moment that I will classify as ME.

I am unknown to myself still. I take life as that: unknown. I control what I can and let go what I can’t.

I have hard days, yes. I sometimes dwell in misery like everybody else. I wake up angry that a series of unfortunate events might lead me to a horrible outcome of a day. But I keep present that there will be a brand new day right after.

Just like a good script, Your story will turn, sometimes for the bad sometimes for good. Its important, its how we measure and separate time in our life.

Just a string of moments. Don’t discriminate.

Call me Naive if you want.

Yeah.

I believe in Humanity. I do believe change is necessary, and I believe we are capable.

Giving your power away is not a shallow thing to do. That is what we are doing everyday by letting institutions that rule our lives do as they see fit with no obstacle, no questions.

Dont you think that if we all exercised our rights and be active citizens things would be better?

Think about it. If you were left alone making decisions with no one telling you nothing? most will become blind with power. The moment you are  put into a pedestal you are stripped away from normalcy and into a bubble that sadly has become one full of corruption and money/power games.

I am not saying that by voting things will inmediatly change for the better and if it doesnt its because of your vote. What I am saying is that voting is just one of the things you can do to regain your lost power, to make your voice heard, collectively.

Lets give politicians a scare. Remind them who’s the boos. keep them in check. They are there because you put them there, be it by voting or by not voting. THEY work for you, that is the whole idea behind this system.

Politicians (people in office) are there because we do not want to be the ones taking care of fixing the streets or budgeting interest. We understood that its better to delegate that job in orderfor it  to be done effectively. And it is not being done effectively. At all.

THEY WORK FOR YOU.

THEY rule your life because that’s the social negotiation we did as societi a group. But they are under you. You decide.

How? Well, you can start by voting today. But it does not end there. Take part in your city rulings. Ask questions. Ask your representative to REPRESENT you and the interests of your community. Disagree and oppose things when you feel like they are wrong, do so according to the rules. Play their game to your advantage.

This game is there also to be played by you. Believe me. I have. Successfully.

Raise your voice. Take a step. The world will not be better tomorrow, but you’ll take part in the journey for change.

Do not take this lightly. Dont give your power away just like that.

Oh Tolerance.

It’s funny how self proclaimed tolerant people seem to get so worked up in front of lines of thoughts that are not their own. It’s a human thing I guess. We measure the world according to our mind. We are the ultimate ruler that carefully protects every inch. I have ideas that oppose others, I don’t consider them truths. I see them as my gut’s conclusions after gathered experiences and my own (biased) gathering of information. Does that make my philosophy weak? Probably. But as weak as any other. I can’t walk in your shoes and therefore I cannot tell you your wrong. You were dealt different cards and you gathered your own (biased) information. We have, however, points where we meet. We share after all this weird human experiment that we call life in this (our only for now) spaceship that we call earth. Let’s face it. The majority or us are not mean, nor we are set out to harm others. We have perhaps different ideas of how to achieve our common goal. I say let’s begging with similarities and understand that by nature we will probably disagree, but let’s keep present that our negotiation should be to obtain a better outcome, both for you and for me. Take an imaginary walk in someone else’s shoes. Try and see that your believes ate nor more important nor more truth than any other that are different. They just are. Just like rain, you cannot stop them, but you can seek a general umbrella that will quiet angry voices. Go ahead and vote, it’s a good start.
